The head of an educational institution shall submit to the State Education Quality Service a accreditation application coordinated with the founder no later than three months before the end of the accreditation period or the desired time of accreditation of the educational programme.
The State Education Quality Service shall, on the basis of the documents submitted and the available information, organise accreditation, inform the educational institution and the founder regarding the composition of the expert commission and the beginning of the work thereof in the educational institution.

Preparation and submission of the report of the expert commission to the State Service for Education
The expert commission shall draw up a report of the expert commission regarding the results of the accreditation and shall submit it to the State Education Quality Service. The report of the expert commission shall be published on the home page of the State Education Quality Service (https://ikvd.gov.lv/akreditacija-vaditaja-novertesana/akreditacijas-ekspertu-komisija-un-zinojumi/)
Taking a decision and entering information in a public register
The State Education Quality Service shall take a decision on the accreditation of an educational programme for a period of six years/on the accreditation of an educational programme for a period of two years/on the refusal of accreditation of an educational programme; information on accreditation shall be entered IN VIIS. A decision on accreditation for a period of two years or refusal of accreditation shall be sent to the educational establishment.
